Others' Sighs

                lovingly ~ coral

 

some day the children of abuse

 will be free of the ties that bind

    they will take one last step

          of thousands

             toward destined freedom

 

some day they will flee

   be free from the pain

          the sorrow

             the anger

 

someday they will let go

   never need to glance back

       leave all the past behind

           to seek more of life

              yet to be

 

someday they will rise

   out of their retreat

      their mending complete

         their healing journey

              just a memory

 

and as it was always meant to be

    just as the dancing butterfly

       renewed in spirit

          they will fly
