faded jeans

that difficult relationship had been on her mind
as she gazed at her old jeans in her closet.
she had loved those jeans so much.
never wanting to admit that she had outgrown them.
that they didn't fit her anymore.
they had given her a sense of comfort and
security for so long.
until holes came.
patches didn't hold up like she had hoped.
too tight around her now.
uncomfortable.
hurting her.
suddenly she knew ~
the time had come to let them go.
