Way Beyond

she was scared,
there had been so many disappointments,
so many shattered beliefs.
to turn and embrace this fully,
to commit her all to it -
scared her.
and yet,
deep in her heart of hearts,
she believed
and she knew there was magic in that commitment
and she knew that magic went way beyond
the two of them.
