~~~~~~in our hearts~~~~
we're holdin' amy and her son, danny, in our hearts this month! amy wrote recently that danny has to head
back into the hospital right around now. he was diagnosed last year with Von-Hippel Lindau (VHL), a disease
that affects 1 in 32,000 people. so, as amy says, it's rare, but not that rare. she asked if we'd remember danny
as he heads back in to surgery to remove two tumors from his spine. she also said it was okay to give out her
email addy here for anyone who wanted to write her a support note! wouldn't that be awesome to flood her
and danny with good wishes?! let's do it! you can reach her at albatten@aol.com. she also gave us the link
to the website with information about this disease www.vhl.org. amy and danny, we're holding you close!
~~you guys~~~
~we're so lucky that we have such wonderful people in our community! MaryAnn is one of them!
she is one of the most amazing women i know. she writes, paints, sings, and is one heck of a friend.
she shares some of her writings with me here and there and it always touches deep. she recently sent
this piece to me, and i asked her if we could put it on our new "her story" page. she graciously agreed.
~worth cooley- prost dropped thru sharing her website this past month. her work is just beautiful!
this was included in her email and i thought i'd share!
We live in times of escalating chaos. Indigenous elders have spoken of these times for many centuries, and are telling us with urgency
that making our way through the times ahead requires remembering "the original instructions." From the Arctic Circle to Australia,
First Peoples speak in one voice about honoring our Earth, understanding that everything -- including each of us -- is connected
to everything else and part of a great Mystery that cannot be contained in numbers, words, or intellect. We all have our original
roots among people who sustained our world for eons. If we can Listen, our own Ancestors can guide us now.
This could be a Good time.
~it's so fun having artists as buddies! you get beautiful stuff in your mailbox all the time!
our buddy leroy zimmerman (www.photosymphony.com) sent this photo that was taken
from the aurora cam in alaska.
he also shared his musings which he graciously has allowed me to share...
The beginning of a beautiful arctic night.  The world is filled with
magic.  It is nice to live in the home of the magician.
There is some light that can only be seen in the dark.  The outer
daylight world shuts off, and all that is left in front of our eyes
is our god, whatever we think it may be.  It is always there if we
look.  But sometimes it is easiest to see in the dark.  That is why
we close our eyes when we want to see that place.
There is some light can only be seen in the dark.  But we have to
look.  And sometimes it looks like this.
And it is showing tonight.
What a world to call home.
~ changes ~
so okay, we're trying to change email boxes. mygosh. you wouldn't think that would be so hard.
whew.leave it to terri to goof it up every way possible! it just makes it more of an adventure!
if you need terri for anything and you've been goin' thru the granolastew yahoo box, just switch
the yahoo to gmail and you got her! it's granolastew@gmail.com. thanks!
***************
now, if an email box change challenges terri...think what it does to her when her e-card/newsletter
service drops out of the universe! change that?! HA! nothing terri's sons can't handle! they are taking
over the newsletter/e-card service! that means they had to FIGURE OUT HOW!! and they have!
well...we think....
so if you run into any technical difficulties...that very well may be why. just figure it's the learning
curve, and be proud of my boys for even trying this! we'll all be pros over here before no time!
honoring the journey....
i guess by now it's obvious that i wear my heart on my sleeve. sharing with you guys feels
honest and real to me. but how about when i can only share pieces? i guess that's how it always
is anyway. bone sighs are only pieces. i guess it's just that the pieces are different sizes at different times.
this time the size i can offer is smaller than i would normally like. but that's because life is entangled with
others...and when others are parts of my pieces, i have to honor that too. so what i'd like to do here is
tell you that i found myself in darkness this month. a darkness so black that in my mind i thought "this must
be what hell is." i don't think i've ever had that thought before. greeting me on my way out of the darkness
were my guys. and i honestly think i saw Light like i never have before.
i'd like to offer the following piece of art as a closing to this holiday newsletter. this holiday season that, for me,
is all about light in the darkness. hope in the sorrow. may we all be filled with the knowing that we are seen
and loved...and that we do indeed matter.
"Love has no fear and no vengenance."
...............from my yogi tea bag today:
