Once upon a time, I was told that I couldn't do it. That I shouldn't dare. That the dream was too risky. That the risks too scary. The only people behind me were my three sons. And together, my three sons and I built a dream. Can you imagine building a dream with your sons? There are days I feel like the luckiest person alive. And that feeling has its roots in the darkest time in my life. How's that for something to think about on those dark days? Gold is found in that darkness. Gold that you don't even know exists. Hang on to that thought and come be part of our journey.

    Hey Ter,

I was just over at Susan's blog to see the dream doll. Tried to post my comment, but it wouldn't go. I'm not too savvy on how all this works.  Maybe you could share this with her:

"Susan, I totally agree with Terri. When I saw how small the dolls are, I was hooked. If you decided to make inner child dolls, please let us know. I would really be interested in purchasing one...especially if it had lots of dark Shirley Temple curls..."

Hey guys.... thank you SOOO much for your interest in my Dream Dolls.  I'm really excited about them.  I appreciate any feedback on what you imagine an Inner Child doll to look like.

I'm personally finding out that they are pretty powerful.  Yesterday, I was surprised to find myself all teary eyed while making "The Messenger".  Then, last night, I had several dreams involving the Inner Child theme.  That is new for me!

I know I pour a lot of hope and healing into the making of these dolls... and I'm discovering that even making them is turning out to be a new kind of healing for me.

Thank you Terri for sharing all of this!!!

    Hi Susan,

this topic has been on my brain all morning and finally figured it out...my inner child isn't at the place where she wears bright colors and has that type of confidence...kept looking at this doll and i kind of wanted it but couldn't quite connect...

so i started having the child design her doll and it was made of lighter colors, lots of natural fabrics like you use, soft quilt like patterns...this was a pleasant surprise out of the blue to have these thoughts while looking at your doll...they are beautiful and was very drawn to her...just thought i'd share that...

Sometimes a visual image expresses ideas that I can't put into words. That's how these dolls feel to me...I imagine cradling one in the palm of my hand, and feeling maternal, nurturing feelings and pouring those all over her...because I'm pretty sure she needs them.

Thank you so much for the feedback!!!

Laurel, I like the idea of the softer, lighter colors... might have to see what I can come up with there.

Sheri, When I'm making the dolls, I find myself pouring a lot of nurturing feelings into them...  it's a healing, hopeful process.

OH...that last doll was me! I mean, that was me who bought it. But I guess I also mean...it was me. I think you have tapped into a strong currrent, Susan, when you say each doll is made for a specific person. You just don't happen to know who that might be, but hey...looks like they are showing up!

Anyway, she jumped off the screen, sat in my lap and said "take me home.";;)

if you're into that, let's send her some, okay?  she's such a beautiful soul inside and out.......
suz.....holdin' you in the light, girl......
